Discipleship in Uneasy Times
Be a voice of reason and calm during this time. Whether or not you think
any of this is justified is irrelevant. People are worried and fearful.
Ultimately, my confidence does not rest on my physical health, but on God who
delivers. Point others in His direction (2 TIM 4:17-18).
That is not to say we should be careless or take unnecessary
risks. We are not in the business of tempting God. We are in the business of
serving Him. Take whatever precautions you deem reasonable and that are in line
with the Covenant we have with our God. Think about what God will do through you
if you sow bountifully(2 COR 9:6-11).
Love one another. Let there be thoughts of service and
compassion. If there is greater opportunity to show the love of Christ to
others, then do it. Serve the King! Prove yourself a disciple of Jesus. (JOHN
13:35)
Let your speech be seasoned with grace. People don't need
to us to just brush things aside like it's no big deal; they need us to provide
biblical comfort and encouragement to trust God no matter what may come. There
is strength in faith! (PSA 27:1-3)
Help people to prepare – physically, mentally, emotionally,
and spiritually. Point them to the Almighty God. He has done something great
for us so we no longer need to be enslaved to the fear of death! Do not be
enslaved! Our High Priest is active in our behalf (HEB 2:14-18)
